Terms and Conditions 2023
Competitions will be contested in Skateboarding, BMX/Biking and Scootering.
Motueka Richmond and Nelson events
Competition in Intermediate and Open age groups will consist of a 3-minute jam of 3 - 6 riders competing at once. Competitions will be split into heats, of which the time allocation to each jam may be adjusted accordingly.
Three riders will then be chosen to compete in the final round, which will consist of a longer 5-10 minute jam.
Competition in the Junior group will consist of a 5-10 minute open jam, this may be followed by 1-2 minute rounds of two or three competitors selected by the judges. The prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places at the end of each discipline’s competition. This choice is final and not negotiable.
Prizes and/or merchandise will be presented to place getters.
Spot prizes will be randomly drawn and also given for special tricks, positive attitudes and good sportsmanship. There will be at least three spot prizes at each event.
The judges will assess trick difficulty, trick variety, use of space and sportsmanship. Judges' decisions are final and not negotiable.
Wakefield McGazzaLand
The Wakefield event will have a slightly different format as the facilities lend themselves more to BMX and mountain biking.
McGazzaland will be running a time trial competition for all disciplines on the pump track as well as a Dirt jump Competition for BMX and Jump Bikes, for more information stay tuned to our social media channels @skatenelsonbays @mcgazzaland on instagram and tasmanyouthhub.co.nz
Organisers have the right to refuse entry if a competitor is determined to be a health and safety risk to themselves or others.
Entering the competition is done at the competitor's own risk. Organisers have made every effort to ensure the parks are safe and fit for competition; however, risks are associated with participating in all types of sports.
The use of protective equipment is highly recommended, and helmets are compulsory for all competitors. Helmets may be available on loan at the competitions. Any competitors without a helmet will be disqualified.
Competitors under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry.
Competitors are responsible for ensuring their skateboard/bike/scooter is fit for use.
Note! At the Tasman Skatepark Series 2023, each event is treated as a separate competition. This means there will be no championship leaderboard and you will not need to collect points.
