Exploring Creative Journaling | Richmond | for young people (12-24)

  • Richmond Library 280 Queen Street Richmond, Tasman, 7020 New Zealand (map)

Register for the workshop and explore creative journaling with a small group of young people. Creative journaling is a blend of creative writing and visual arts which offers ways to express thoughts, feelings and responses to life experiences that can be contained within a private journal.

This workshop will offer the opportunity to try a range of short and longer activities using the visual arts and creative writing. This isn’t an art class or a creative writing lesson – it is more about using arts materials or pens in expressive ways, letting go of what it looks like or how it might read. A gentle, calm and safe space will be fostered along with a judgment-free zone.

This is not a form of therapy however the intention is to offer tools that may be used beyond the workshop to enhance wellbeing. The afternoon will be one of spaciousness, to allow time to absorb what emerges. There will also be a break for pizza.

This workshop will be facilitated by registered and qualified creative arts therapist Lynda Jessen-Tye.

Register here.
